A couple of new Disney Channel pilots have been announced.
Deadline reported a few days ago that Disney Channel has greenlighted a new comedy pilot called “Bunked.” It is written by Joey Manderino (“Austin & Ally”) and the executive producer is Dan Staley (“Good Luck Charlie”).
“Bunked” follows a tech-savvy teenage girl as she tries to adapt to life as a counselor at a sleep-away camp in Wisconsin. She barely has the skills to unzip a sleeping bag, let alone lead young campers through any outdoor adventures, but with a little help from new friends, and some insect repellent, she might be able to pull it off. “Bunked” is set to begin production in September.
Also, in news from TV Line, the channel has ordered a comedy pilot set inside a mall, and is called “Fairest of the Mall.” This show is centered on a teenage girl who lands her dream job at the plaza’s hottest clothing store, only to lose it once she’s set up by the resident queen bee. Now, the only job she can find is at the tech store filled with quirky teen boys.
Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas (“Randy Cunningham”) wrote the script and will serve as executive producers.
