Universal Orlando and Loews Hotels announced today a new Sapphire Falls Resort that will open in Summer 2016. The new hotel will be Caribbean themed and will feature 1,000 guest rooms and 77 suites, and as a centerpiece, there is a a tropical river and towering waterfall. The hotel’s lobby includes floor-to-ceiling windows with an “island” view, and the resort will feature a pool, waterside, fitness center, convention space and sand beach. The convention space will be the second largest for Loews’, with 131,000 square feet for meetings and events. There is an air-conditioned bridge for linking the resort to the Royal Pacific Resort as well. The full-service restaurant that is onsite will feature Caribbean-style views and there will be a poolside bar and grill.

Once completed, this will be the fifth on-site hotel for Universal Orlando when it opens in 2016 and will bring the on-site room total for Universal Orlando to 5,200. Reservations will begin to be accepted in Spring 2015, and guest of the hotel will enjoy early park admission to Universal’s theme parks.
