Top 5 Counter Service Restaurants At A Walt Disney World Resort

We have had the opportunity to visit a lot of the resorts inside Walt Disney World Resort and have enjoyed staying, walking around, taking photos and trying out the restaurants.

For this Top 5 article, I am going to focus in on the counter service locations and which ones we have found have a great atmosphere and good selections for food.

This list begins with our favorite!

1. The Mara:

This is at the top of our list because of some of the unique food to Africa that is served and the African-inspired surroundings are wonderful. Our favorite sandwich is the Hand-Carved Turkey Sandwich – which I wrote a review on here – and we just love any time that we have a chance to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. After grabbing a bite to eat, we usually step outside and watch the animals grazing nearby. Absolutely beautiful!

2. Capt. Cook’s:

Located inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will find nachos, pizza, sandwiches and more served for lunch and dinner in this quaint little spot with 2 different seating areas. For breakfast, grab a Mickey Waffle or banana-stuffed Tonga Toast. Love the Polynesian-inspired decor at this restaurant. Oh, and don’t forget to grab a Dole Whip at the window nearby.

3. Riverside Mill Food Court:

This restaurant located at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside has a very laid-back feel to it. There are 6 counters to order your food from that include bakery items, pizza, pasta, salads, a carving station and more. We enjoy taking a nice leisurely boat ride from Downtown Disney/Disney Springs to get to the restaurant.

4. Landscape of Flavors:

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort houses a restaurant called Landscape of Flavors, and we have just recently reviewed the Barbecued Pork Sandwich that we purchased from there – it is AMAZING! We were happy with the multiple windows for ordering food that included so many great options. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very pleasant, and we love listening to the music from Disney movies such as “Cars,” “The Lion King” and “The Little Mermaid” that was playing in the seating area.

5. Pepper Market:

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a little separated from some of the other Disney resorts, but is well worth the stop. We enjoy walking around the lake and snapping pictures. Plus, Pepper Market is a nice place to grab a meal. So many things to choose from beginning with breakfast until dinner like pancakes, omelets, French toast, breakfast burritos and Mexican fare, salads, sandwiches, grilled items, pizza, pasta and more.
