This is an unofficial list of the events that are taking place at Walt Disney World Resort for 2017. This post will be updated regularly throughout the year as schedules are changed and events will be announced during the year. The list of events include all of our favorite annual events like Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, and of course, the holiday events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Candlelight Processional, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and more.

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend:

The 2016 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend takes place January 4 to January 8, at Walt Disney World Resort. It will be full of fantastic runs including the Walt Disney Marathon, 20th Anniversary Half Marathon, Dopey Challenge, Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge, 10K, 5K and runDisney Kids Races. Plus, there’ll be plenty of Disney entertainment, your favorite Disney characters, 20th Anniversary Half Marathon tee-shirts and finisher medals and lots more.

Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend: 

Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend takes place from February 23-26th in a ‘dream come true’ weekend of majestic runs in the most magical place on earth. Girls and women of all ages are invited to join the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. And, guests will take home an exclusive Finisher Medal celebrating Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Atlanta Braves Spring Training:

The Braves will begin their annual spring training at Champion Stadium in ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex on February 25th until March 29, 2017.

Atlanta Braves Spring Training:

Spring training at Champion Stadium in ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex for the Braves continues and will end on March 29th.

Epcot:

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival:

The 2017 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is scheduled to run from March 1st until May 29th. A brand new front-entrance topiary garden will be inspired by a vintage Walt Disney short film. It will spring to life with a floral-festooned maypole featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy and Pluto. Read more here.

Garden Rocks Concert Series:

The 2017 Garden Rocks Concert Series will expand to four days each week, with three concerts each Friday through Monday presenting pop musicians that span multiple genres over four decades. We will update this information when we hear who will be performing and when! The concerts are included in the price of admission to Epcot.

Star Wars Half Marathon: The Dark Side: 

Walt Disney World Resort hosts another fun marathon from April 20-23, its the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side! During the weekend of galactic fun and fantastic runs, you’ll be on Darth Vader’s turf with the Emperor’s white uniformed stormtroopers cheering you on your way. Darth Vader, the Galactic Empire Sith Lord, has a weekend of powerful surprises in store including spectacular runs, special events, entertainment and much, much more! Great for Star Wars fans of every age including the Star Wars Half Marathon, Star Wars 10K, Star Wars 5K and the runDisney Kids Races. Challenge yourself to the ultimate test with the Star Wars Dark Side Challenge combining the Star Wars 10K and Half Marathon.

Sounds Like Summer Concert Series:

Sounds Like Summer Concert Series is another series of free concerts that takes place at Epcot with classic Rock ‘n’ Roll hits and takes place in June and July. The concerts are held under the skies of Epcot’s open-air American Gardens Theatre! The Sounds Like Summer Concert Series is a popular annual event at Epcot with three shows nightly. We will update this when dates are announced.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival:

Each fall, Epcot brings food and wine from around the world to one convenient location. There are nearly 30 international food and beverage marketplaces and the Eat to the Beat concert series, with nightly performances from popular hit-makers.

Dates for the 2017 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival were announced in November 2016 (read more here). It will run from August 31, 2017, through November 13th.

September 2017

Magic Kingdom:

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party:

This is a trick-or-treat event for everyone. You can dress up in your favorite costume and collect candy throughout Magic Kingdom. The event is held on select nights from September to October. The tone of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is “not-so-scary,” which means children of all ages can enjoy this party.

Dates have not been announced yet, and we will update you when they become available.

Night of Joy Event:

The annual Night of Joy, a Christian Music (from rock and pop to folk and gospel) event, will be held on September 8 and September 9, 2017.

The artists have not been named yet, and we will update that information when it becomes available.

Please note: entrance to Disney’s Night of Joy requires a ticket for admission.

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend: 

Join the celebration and prepare to feast on an exciting menu of races during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend from November 2-5th. There will be some new events for this year including the Disney Two Course Challenge and the Disney Wine & Dine 10K, in addition to the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, Disney Fall Feast 5K and runDisney Kids Races. Plenty of surprises, Disney entertainment, and an exclusive Post-Race Party for runners and their guests.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party:

Magic Kingdom is transformed for the Christmas holiday with live entertainment, special event fireworks, tasty snacks and a holiday parade at this winter celebration. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is held select nights in November and December. Dates have not been announced yet, and we will update when they become available.

Holidays Around the World in Epcot:

Experience how the holidays are celebrated around the world with unique entertainment celebrating the spirit of the season.

Although subject to change, holiday festivities may include:

  • American Adventure: Meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, celebrate the traditions of Hanukkah and discover the spirit of Kwanzaa.
  • Canada: Follow the Canadian Holiday Voyageurs on a musical tour as you explore seasonal customs of the Great White North.
  • China: Watch the agile Monkey King weave his tall tale with twists and turns celebrating Chinese New Year.
  • France: Discover the magic of Père Noël and the joy of the season through a Christmas letter from a child.
  • Germany: Listen as Helga tells the story of the first Christmas tree and the tale of her first Nutcracker.
  • Italy: Meet the kind-hearted witch La Befana who arrives on the eve of the Epiphany to grant gifts to good children.
  • Japan: Hear the fascinating story of the Daruma doll and the Japanese customs of the New Year.
  • Mexico: Celebrate with Los Tres Reyes Magos, the Three Kings, as they tell of their journey to the Posada and traditions today.
  • Morocco: Join Taarji, a Moroccan drummer, as he reflects on family traditions commemorating the holiday of Ramadan.
  • Norway: Spend time with Sigrid and learn about Julenissen, the Christmas Gnome.
  • United Kingdom: Share in the vivid stories of Father Christmas, dating back to 15th-century England.

Candlelight Processional:

The Candlelight Processional lets you hear the story of Christmas as told by a special guest narrator with the rich sounds of a full orchestra and choir filling the theatre.

The Candlelight Processional is performed three times each evening, 5:00, 6:45 and 8 p.m. The line-up of celebrity narrators has not been announced yet. Theme park admission is required. No information yet on the dates and narrators.
