“Wreck-It Ralph” wins Annie Award for Best Animated Feature

Walt Disney’s video game-themed movie  “Wreck-It Ralph” won Best Animated Feature at the Annie Awards on Saturday, February 2, 2013. The hit comedy about an 8-bit video-game villain who wants to turn hero was a big winner at the Annies, which are presented by the International Animated Film Society. “Wreck-It Ralph” won out over a field that included Disney’s “Frankenweenie” and Disney-Pixar’s “Brave.”  “ParaNorman” and “Hotel Transylvania” were also nominated.

“Wreck-It Ralph” won additional awards in the film categories for director Rich Moore, voice co-star Alan Tudyk and for its music and screenplay. Another Disney film, “The Avengers,” won the Annie for effects.
