Capt. Cook’s At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Reopens
Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has reopened. It’s one of our favorite quick-service spots in all of Walt Disney World Resort and offers a few new times and a new menu. For the new items, there are a classic lobster roll on a buttered bun, blackened fish tacos, a noodle bowl (beef or shrimp) and coconut curry meatballs. There’s also a new gourmet hot dog with garlic ketchup and mango relish. The crispy fried chicken and waffles which is available as a hearty breakfast but remains on the menu throughout the day. Some of the old favorites remain including the pork nachos, pizzas, grilled chicken sandwich and house-made sushi. You can still find Tonga Toast on the menu for breakfast along with a new breakfast burrito with egg, bacon, potatoes and Cheddar cheese.
There is one big think missing at Capt. Cook’s: the Dole Whip’s. However, before you get too worried, they will still be available inside the Polynesian at a new location called Pineapple Lanai, which opens at the end of August. The Polynesian will also be home to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto which will open in the spring of 2015 right next door to Capt. Cook’s. We’ll keep you up to date with the new restaurants so watch here for details soon!
