If you are a fan of DisneyQuest’s “Ride the Comix,” you should head to Downtown Disney inside Walt Disney World Resort today for one last hurrah. The VR (virtual reality) comic book ride will be closing at the end of operations today, Sunday, September 7, 2014. It’s been reported that the space will be used as expanded seating for the FoodQuest quick service restaurant. When we first heard the rumors about the closing, we had hoped that maybe Disney was working on a new attraction for the area. A virtual reality Star Wars attraction would have been amazing. If you hadn’t had the opportunity to play “Ride the Comix,” it was almost like using a light saber. Or, maybe they could have reimagined it as a Marvel “Ride the Comix.” Either idea would have been a great addition to DisneyQuest, but it doesn’t look like it will be happening. One interesting thing to note is that the current attraction is located on the 4th and 5th floors. We’re not sure if they are adding seating to both floors, or if only one area is going to be used for seating.
