On Friday morning (May 15, 2015), Nintendo hosted an exclusive Splatoon Mess Fest held at the Santa Monica Pier in California.
Celebrities and influencers got to test out the game before its launch on May 29. After a few rounds of gameplay, they participated in a game-themed obstacle course, where they were splattered with colorful ink, similar to the game. During the first run, James Marsden (“Westworld”) and his daughter Mary teamed up with Nolan Gould (“Modern Family”) and Ty Simpkins (Jurassic World) on the Green Team to battle it out against Willow Shields (The Hunger Games), Alli Simpson (Singer/ Model), Veronica Dunne (“K.C. Undercover”) and Dylan Riley Snyder (“Kickin’ It”) on the Purple Team! Both teams were neck-in-neck throughout the obstacle course, but the Green Team took home the gold when they won the onstage gameplay. Benjamin Stockham (“About a Boy”) splattered his opponents and lead his team to victory during the second race which included Nintendo representatives and some very lucky consumers.
Miss Veronica posted this pic on her Instagram and said that she had a great time:
Had an awesome time today at the #Splatoon event for @nintendo
Along with this great snapshot, the “K.C. Undercover” actress wrote:
NAILED IT Team Purple #Splatoon Mess Fest! @WillowShields @allisimpson @DylanRSnyder
So great!
Joey Bragg from “Liv and Maddie” and Kelli Berglund (“Lab Rats: Bionic Island”) also went head-to-head on the course. Candice from Radio Disney was on Kelli’s team.
Miss Kelli tweeted:
we’re ready for some #SPLATOON @NintendoAmerica @JoeyBragg
Seems Joey’s team had won, and Kelli said with this snap:
Your team might’ve won, @JoeyBragg, (*cough* by 2 seconds) but I was faster #Splatoon @NintendoAmerica
Fun times!!!
