SeaWorld Orlando has released details on the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in Orlando. Given the name of Mako, it will make it’s presence felt in the summer of 2016. Borrowing a name of an amazingly fast shark, Mako seems like it’s named perfectly with some amazing specs: the 200-foot-tall coaster will reach speeds of 73 mph while traveling 4,760 feet of steel track.
This will be the fifth thrill ride at SeaWorld Orlando with this new coaster being positioned as the centerpiece of the new shark-themed surrounding area which will include a two-acre plaza with a fully shark-themed realm. This includes the new Mako, Shark Encounter, Sharks Underwater Grill, shops, shark and shipwreck theming and educational experiences featuring sharks. The new ride will be manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, a company that SeaWorld Orlando has a history with, as they also constructed SeaWorld’s Kraken.
Another great ride we can’t wait to try in 2016, which is shaping up to be a great year to visit SeaWorld.
