Disney Interactive has released some details about the Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire Play Set for Disney Infinity 3.0. Although we’re looking forward to all three of the Star Wars Play Sets, as well as the other new sets including the recently announced Inside Out, Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire is one that looks particularly interesting. It’s being developed by Studio Gobo, in partnership with Avalanche Software. The Play Set is based on iconic moments inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy, Episodes IV-VI.
Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire will include all-time favorite characters including Jedi Luke Skywalker, Rebel leader Princess Leia Organa, smuggler Han Solo and the larger than life Wookie himself, Chewbacca. Together, they help defeat Darth Vader and the evil Galactic Empire. Some of the locations you can visit include walking through open world planets like Tatooine (or perhaps you’d like to take a Bantha?); Hoth where you can confront AT-AT walkers aboard a snowspeeder; take on stormtroopers on a speeder bike on Endor; or even take in an amazing space battles as you use an X-wing fighter to destroy the Death Star.
The Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire Play Set will include Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa figures while Han Solo, Chewbacca and Darth Vader will be available but sold separately. The other two Star Wars Play Sets that will be available for Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition include Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The characters can be used inside all of the Star Wars Play Sets as well as in the ever-improving Toy Box. They can also be used along all characters previously released for Disney Infinity.
We were able to try out Disney Infinity 3.0 today at Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios inside Walt Disney World.
Here’s a video below where you can see the new gameplay – our son Clayton had a chance to try it out – although the video is for the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set. So cool!
