Teen Game Review: “Disney Infinity 3.0″ Toy Box Speedway PS4

Racing. I mean, seriously, who doesn’t like some racing? Be it Mario Kart-esque or just playing some Need For Speed, I grew up loving both, of course. With this new expansion for Disney Infinity 3.0 you can take a couple of things from both of the games I mentioned, and even add on a bunch of other variables for you to understand how great of an add-on it is.

To get it going, you get 4 different vehicles to use. Any other motorized (or, not motorized) vehicles you already have from playing Disney Infinity 3.0 you can also use on the tracks. Oh right, the tracks. NINE tracks come with it! Yes, nine, that wasn’t a miscount, I promise. They are: Sugar Rush, Frozen, Tatooine, San Fransokyo, Agrbah, Monsters Inc., Halloween Town, Gravity Falls and Marvel’s Knowhere. Being a HUGE supporter of Gravity Falls, that has been my favorite so far. To be quite honest, If I wasn’t such a huge fan of the show, this would be such a toss up of what would be my selection for the top. They all have their little niches that make them awesome and enjoyable in some different way that the next one cannot give you. You for sure have to see it or play it to understand this, I cannot describe how much of a difference one track is compared to the other. The visuals are all quite nice, but I would have to choose Tatooine if we are going just based off of that. Plus, it’s um….Star Wars, no arguments to be had there.

Now, what also is a great addition for this, is you can use ANY of your Disney Infinity characters you have for this. Obviously, you have to play the Toy Box Speedway on your 3.0 piece, BUT you can place any of the characters you have acquired over the time being, which is a great thing especially if you want to see some of the wackiest races you could ever conjure up. You will either totally get this next reference, or not. but the playing of it and the mash of people you can toss in there, it reminds me very much of one of my favorite television cartoons when I was younger, Wacky Races. Created by Hanna-Barbera in part with Heatter-Quigley, I was lucky enough to watch the entire show on Boomerang when I was really small, not like I am today. It takes me back to some great memories with this expansion, and hopefully, it can do the same for you. I thoroughly had an awesome time trying all of the tracks out, trying all of the figures I had available. I think if you liked creating your own races before, and liked the aspect of it in Disney Infinity before all of this, then yes, you need to get this. I easily would fall into that category, and I know others out there easily will too. It adds such a nice array of things for you to do that it is well worth 20 dollars. 20 dollars for you to have hours upon hours of fun is basically like you didn’t pay anything at all. Now, go out there and win some races for me!
